Dear friends,

10 practical requests and offers for a late summer and autumn of solidarity! We would like to invite and encourage you to participate. In the introduction to our last newsletter, we already highlighted the transnational chain of actions for freedom of movement in September and October. For this summer edition of Kompass, we would like to add some concrete suggestions to the general call for participation. What is needed and wanted? What can be planned and done? In small or large groups? Let's act!

-1- The inspiring introduction: Who would like to participate in a transnational online conference on 4 September, the 10th anniversary of the breakthrough of the March of Hope?

-2- Local action: In which other cities could decentralised rallies or information stands be organised two days later, on Saturday, 6 September? With information on 10 years of the Summer of Migration as well as on current mobilisations and campaigns against deportations, camps, payment cards and pushbacks at the external borders…

-3- Lampedusa is everywhere! Who would like to join the protest regatta in the central Mediterranean between 10 and 20 September with land or river actions? f.Lotta is looking for ‘f.Lottine’ and ‘land actions’!

-4- Red card for the institutions of ‘migration management’! Who would like to travel to Geneva for two days on 12/13 September to support the protests of refugees in Libya in front of the headquarters of the UNHCR and IOM?

-5- The tour through eastern Germany! Who can imagine joining the We'll Come United caravan from Thuringia to Berlin between 20 and 27 September as a driver with a car? For at least three to four days or even for the whole week?

-6- Logistics needed! Who can help with translations, in the kitchen or with security during the ‘Caravan for Free Movement’ these days?

-7- Everyone to the German capital! Who wants to help mobilise for the big parade in Berlin on 27 September? Who has further ideas and capacity to help design a ‘theme truck’?

-8- Transcontinental solidarity! Who can support a conference in Rabat and projects in Morocco, either with personnel or material resources?

-9- Come to Rome! Who would like to come to the Italian capital in mid-October? And ideally invite another person who has made it through Libya and across the sea themselves, who is now able to travel and wants to take part in the rally against the Italy-Libya deal on the ‘Survivors' Stage’?

-10- Spontaneous is good too! Who has last-minute ideas for further actions, even small and local ones, against those involved in deportation and exclusion, for freedom of movement and equal rights?

A lot of background information, links and contacts for all the actions mentioned can be found here: https://trans-border.net/. Please send any further enquiries and offers to chain-of-action@tsc25.net. Finally, the Transborder Summer Camp will take place near Nantes in August: over 700 activists have registered and this exchange will hopefully bring further ideas and agreements for the chain of actions, which we will report on in time at the end of August in the next Kompass.

With solidarity, the Kompass Crew
